Currently on Microsoft Windows XP Professional edition with SP2 can't seen to
update to Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) and receiving Error Code:0x643 and the only anti-spyware program are Microsoft AntiSpyware beta and Ad-Aware SE Professional. Also no Framework 2.0 beta installed. So how can I install the update to Framework 2.0? |

Were you on the Beta version? If not then that suggestion would not apply.
I found a reference to one person with the same error message, caused by apparently having 'too many firewalls' active. Reduce your firewall protection and try again (go offline, disable any third-party firewall, and ensure that Windows Firewall is active - then go back online) see if that helps. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Something" <Something@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5D8373F7-D040-464F-B41D-BBD6C150036F@microsoft.com... > Still have the same Error message of Code:0x643 > > "madgamerps2" wrote: > >> I had Microsoft NET framework 2.0 beta 2 installed that was the >> problem, after >> I uninstalled Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 beta 2 the update to >> Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) worked fine >> "madgamerps2" wrote: >> >> > I have got Error 0x1011 3 out of 3 times trying to install this update >> > how do >> > I fix? >> > >> > "Something" wrote: >> > >> > > Currently on Microsoft Windows XP Professional edition with SP2 can't >> > > seen to >> > > update to Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) and receiving >> > > Error >> > > Code:0x643 and the only anti-spyware program are Microsoft >> > > AntiSpyware beta >> > > and Ad-Aware SE Professional. I have been unable to install the .NET update. I am running Windows 2000
Professional on an IBM ThinkPad Laptop. I do not have any beta versions of ..net installed. I have Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 as well as the hotfix for it - (KB886903). I tried installing it with the critical updates, then seperate from the critical updates. Both times I got error 0x659; I have no idea what that error means. Additionally, as recommended on this forum, I tried going to the Microsoft ..NET Framework developer centerand downloading/installing it directly from that site (http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframewo.../default.aspx). I tried installing the Redistributal Package (2.0 x86) as the site says this must be installed before installing the SDK 2.0 x86 package. It was unable to install; the error message said that it either could not open the installation package or a required file. The only thing I have yet to try is to uninstall the 1.1 version (and hotfix) before trying to install the 2.0 version. I did not think this was necessarily causing a problem since all the posts I have read so far said that only those people with beta versions had to uninstall them first. I will post again once I have tried uninstalling version 1.1 first. -tnlindsey "Something" wrote: > Ah I shut down my firewall and still getting the same error Code:0x643. > > "Noel Paton" wrote: > > > Were you on the Beta version? Ever think about beginning a new thread about /your/ problem, instead of

(I'm working on it - honest!) - PABear's comment was directed purely at the
post from tnlindsey, and was definitely not pointed in your direction!! -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Something" <Something@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news D31C4CC-42A6-4B83-BA23-AC7E2AFB3CB3@microsoft.com...> Well for me always I received the same error Code:0x643 when I tried to > update to .Net Framework 2.0. > > |
