Installer Problems
Anything related to installing programs fails:
When I run Microsoft Update, I get this error: [Error number: 0xC0000005] Office Update also fails and gives this report: ProdVer : 10.0.2627.01 Action : OfficeUpdate.ApplyPatch ErrNum : 1601 Err0 : {DA256408-A2E7-41A5-8AD6-62ACB86A0FD7} Err1 : x When I go to Add/Remove Programs, I receive the error "The installer service could not be accessed." I downloaded and installed Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2) but to no avail. Please help. Thanks.
