Default Can't install Generic USB drivers for XP - no drivers found!?

I was having trouble with my USB so I tried to delete my USB ports and have
XP reinstall them. However XP has been unable to install.
Windows identifies the "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" but no matter
how I try to install (choosing source, automatic, using updates etc) I alsay
end up with
"Cannot instal this hardware - The hardware was not installed because the
wizard cannot find the necessary software"

I have an old MS6309 motherboard with VIA chipset. I have tried running the
VIA4in1 to install drivers but nothing fixes the USB controller in XP.

Windows can't find the relevant drivers on the XP cd or in my XP SP2 files.
What can I do, I have no USB working.

Thanks,
Adrian

Download a *Free* program called "ChipInfo.exe" and click the appropiate tab to get the USB's
exact manufacturer and device info. http://www.pcanalyser.com/eng/index.html
Direct download: http://www.pcanalyser.com/chipinfo.html

First, try the manufacturer's website, or Google for it.
