Default Problem with automatic update kb896424

I have automatic updates turned on, but this update is killing all networking
(wireless and cabled) on one of my computers. I have to do a system restore
to an earlier date to get it working so I have 2 questions:

1) Is there a way to prevent this update from being applied without just
turning off all updates? (What will be the effect of not applying this updte
to future updates? Are they cumulative?)

2) Is tere a known problem with this update? How do I report a problem with
the update?

The system that is having the problem is a Toshiba M205 Tablet PC. This
update has not seemed to cause a problem for my desktop machines so I suspect
it has something to do with the Tablet PC version of widows or a the display
driver for the Toshiba. (The KB article on this update said it was to prevent
some type of vulnerability in the display).

Disable Automatic Updates forever. Go to Windows Update and download the
update but disable your anti virus auto scan before doing so.
