Default Not able to browse thru certain pages of the microsoft website

while trying to go to certain url(s) in this microsoft site, like

http://support.microsoft.com/support...ks/Windows/98/

it does n't allows and gives message "You are not authorized to view this
page".

How to get authority then?

I don't. I get an HTTP 404 which contains HTML to show

<title>The Requested Web Page is Not Available</title>


If instead I try to back up a level to

http://support.microsoft.com/support...packs/Windows/

then I see an HTTP 403 error response with HTML

<title>Directory Listing Denied</title>

You don't. You're doing something wrong.

BTW in case you are seeing so-called "friendly" HTTP error messages
in IE try unchecking that option (in Options, Advanced tab) to see the
real HTML responses.
