Default "My Computer" lockup after update

An automatice update was recently downloaded which required a restart of my
computer. Since then, whenever I click on the "My Computer" icon, my whole
system locks up and I must do a hard boot. This has happened on all
computers in my office (5) except one, which does not allow the automatice
updates.

I've seen that happen when there is an error in one of the right-click context menu items.

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Actually, this happens after just a regular double click.

Right-click on the item then and see what is bolded in the resulting menu.
Doubleclicking is equivalent to selecting and choosing the bolded item.
