Click Yes on the dialog box that asks you if you are sure to add the information in OLEfix.reg to the registry. You may have to reboot your machine afterwards. Your situation might also have been caused by a known issue with KB902400.
The 'fix' for issues caused by KB902400 is documented in KB909444 -- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909444 Systems that have changed the default Access Control List permissions on the %windir%\registration directory may experience various problems after you install the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-051 for COM+ and MS DTC "Irwansyah" <Irwansyah@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3C634FC6-BFE1-4B67-81E8-664EDAE13618@microsoft.com... >I have done what is suggested in the article but I am afraid it does not work > it is the same as the one you graciously provided. > > "Torgeir Bakken (MVP)" wrote: > >> Nibbly wrote: >> > when i go to the update site, i receive the message 'Install the ActiveX >> > control to view the website' Also, for some reason, I have no >> > information >> > bar, so cannot right click on it to follow the instructions.
