i have an excerpt from my windows update log and have tried several of the
other suggestions on the message boards for this error but to no avail, i need to send it to an Mvp |

I put a suggestion from a Google Groups search on error number
0x8024D007 under your post. Was that a thing that you tried? Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window. net stop WuAuServ 2. Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter. 3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold. 4. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter.
