Whenever I used the windows update, I get this error message, "Error number:
0x80072EFF" May I know what went wrong? How come this problem suddenly happened only recently? I have been using windows XP with service pack 2 for a few years and this is the first time this problem occurs. Anyone know how to resolved this problem? |

This issue can occur if the server is busy. Try WU later.
If this issue continues, try installing the latest version of Microsoft Windows Script. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ist/webdev.asp A solution by another user ""GRINGOX" wrote: I was having the same problem just a few minutes ago. My comp updated to windows update v6 this morning and sometime between then and now I turned off the JIT compiler for virtual machine (in internet options)... I turned it back on and ....voila, it worked. Coincidence? I dunno. Try it if you have it turned off. Hi,
I cannot find the JIT compiler for virtual machine (in internet options). And where to look for the Microsoft Windows Script? I think I may not have them installed after using autopatcher Nov 2005. May I know will the above mentioned affect the downloading of the windows update? It is downloading but after 100%, the error page would be loaded with the error code 0x80072EFF. You may not have java installed. Have a look at the installation check, which will advise you regarding your java. http://www.xs4all.nl/~smuller/VMSite2/ > And where to look for the Microsoft Windows Script? Microsoft Windows Script - pick the link with the right one for your OS. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ist/webdev.asp > May I know will the above mentioned affect the downloading of the windows > update? > It is downloading but after 100%, the error page would be loaded with the > error code 0x80072EFF. Are you using Norton Anti Virus v9.05.15?
If you are there is an option to enable/disable Script Blocking. Disable it. Then perform your update. Hope it help. I had this same problem until I was looking into another problem.
