Every time that I try to update Windows Installer 3.1, I get this Error Code:
0x80070005. Is there any kind of way for me to remedy this problem? |

I have the exact same problem. I tried stopping the Automatic Update
service, renaming the Winnt\SoftwareDistribution folder and restarting the Automatic Update service...to no avail. I tried registering msxml3.dll...to no avail. I am at a loss. I figured it out.
The solution was to run dcomcnfg. On the Default Properties tab, at the bottom under "Default Impersonation Level" make sure it is set to either "Impersonate" or "Identify." I then restarted the Automatic Update service. Best of luck. "Benjamin708" wrote: > I have the exact same problem. Hey thanks for replying to my message. I done everything that you done, and
it didn't work for me. I don't know what's wrong with this thing, but thanks for your help though. "Benjamin708" wrote: > I figured it out. > The solution was to run dcomcnfg.
