Default Win 32 error... Can anyone help, please?

Since running 'winsock fix' to refresh my setting so that I can connect to
the internet, I've been having some strange problems. Everytime on reboot I
lose all sound - I reinstall the driver (soundblaster) and it will then be
fine. But also I will get a win32 error report and my task bar changes in
appearance from XP to classic. Explorer can also crash usually with the win32
error. Just now I faced a crash when trying to paste pictures into iTunes...
On reboot I was told that the crash could have been caused by new hardware...
what can I do to fix? I running service pack 2.
