Just in case something goes wrong. One should actually always do this before trying to repair the system by deleting files etc. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of making a restore point every time you make modifications for your system. -Start->Run-> cleanmgr Select Temporary Internet Files and click OK -Find a folder called "C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate (It may be hidden, so you have to make sure hidden folder/files are shown) -Delete a folder called v4 (Remember that it is possibly hidden. The goal is to delete v4-folder and a file called Iuhist.xml) -Start search. Look for iuctl.dll and iuengine.dll. Remember to search also from hidden folders and files - IF you find them under C:\Windows\System32\Dllcache delete them first - If they are found _anywhere outside_ C:\Windows\System32 delete them - After that, delete them from C:\Windows\System32 - If the system asks for XP-installation disk, select Cancel - If you are asked to answer if you want to _keep_ file versions that are not recognized, answer YES. -Go to Windows Update and install the new versions of those ActiveX-components. -- J.K. |

I answered this, but because I don't understand English too well, I understood the situation wrong. I canceled the post. If you still see it, just ignore it. It is not gonna help you. Sorry. -- J.K. |
