Default Repetitive Windows update

Hi,

The following update is repeatedly downloaded from Microsft windows update
site although OS
reports that it was installed successfully each time I confirm this update :
"Cumulative Security Update for OE6 SP1 (KB823353)".

How can I break this update cycle ?

Windows version?

Are you posting from the problem machine (from your headers: Microsoft
Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1106)?

Look in OE Help > About > Files: What versions are displayed for the files
MSOE.DLL and INETCOMM.DLL?

Hi,

If you have the security update KB897715 (MS05-030) installed,
it could be caused by that.

Temporarily uninstall KB897715 (from Add/Remove Programs), and see if
KB823353 (MS04-018) installs successfully. Then install KB897715 again.

Hi,

Great

The problem was gone. I haven't tried yet re-installing KB897715 but so far
KB823353 was installed only once.

Thanks
Dudi
