The Windows 2000 autoupdate prompt me if I wanted to update. I said "yes"
and now it's downloading some huge file that's taking a long time to download. I want to stop this download. I tried to reboot but the file keeps downloading. How can I stop this download? A thousand thanks in advance! |

A quick solutionis to temorarily stop the Background Intelligent Transfer
Service(Bits) service. However the download in question will still be stored in BITS queue and the download will resume the next time the service is started. You will need the BITSadmin commandline tool from the 2003 Admin tool kit to purge this download from BITS queue. The other option is to stop the service until after hours and then start it so the download can complete after hours. Hope this helps Good luck Tim "Toan" wrote: > The Windows 2000 autoupdate prompt me if I wanted to update.
