Whatever I try to install, third party software, games, or XP or office
updates, the install process hangs in the install initialization step--it just stops. Task Manager says its "running." I've waited over 4 hours for it to finish. I first noticed this trying to install the "Malicious Software Removal" update in either Sep or Oct (I forget), but that may be a coincidence. I have Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803), at least according to the control panel/add remove programs. I have msi.dll version 3.1.4000.2435. I am running XP SP 2 -- Koke |
