Default When BITS fails to run and Update does not work, try this

Hi,
I found a site (actually not "found", my cousin told me about it. He is
the author of this little freeware) that solved my update problem.
BITS refused to start and Windows Update of course failed every time.

I used this program and clicking of "Phase 1" solved the probem. Took me
about 30 secs to fix the problem with that program.

Seems like it fixes at least BITS, but if I understood the explanation
correctly, it includes also other fixes for the problem.

It is freeware, the only reason to make it was to help people, and can
be found here:
http://www.sci.fi/~borg/fixwindowsupdate/

It has been a working solution for at least 52 times since Nov-25-2005
when it was published here for the first time. (That's how many e-mails
the author has received, there can be more)

No adware/spyware, no BHO.

Read the help-files to find out how and why to use it.

Now also available from CNET-downloads.
http://www.download.com/FixWindowsUp...=dl&tag=button

The author asked me to tell, that in a next few days, he is gonna add a
little bit functionality. It should fix at least some of those downloads
failing because of 0x80070643-errors. And little by little there will be
more and more.
