If automatic updates are set for example:
Everyday at 3:00 am. Does my computer have to be signed onto the internet? |

Your computer needs to be turned on, too. In addition, you should disable your anti virus auto scan before installing. With all the problems with Auto Update, I recommend that you visit Windows Update every second Wednesday of the month. Alias |

NO.. It does NOT have to be signed onto the Internet at 3am to install
updates. The updates are downloaded sometime prior to 3am. If the updates are not downloaded prior to 3am, they won't be installed at 3am.
