I can uninstall SP2 and boot back into SP1 successfully. However, this does
not solve the problem installing SP2. I upgraded the Media Player to version 10 as instructed by an article I found on the Microsoft website. This does not help either. Would you happen to have some additional ideas? Hi Germex - In addition to the resources TaurArian pointed you to, you might
also want to take a look at: Windows XP - Service Pack 2 (SP2) - FAQs & Best Practices http://forum.aumha.org/index.php?c=1...846d0d5186c 0 and specifically at: Installing SP2 http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php...846d0d5 186c0 One very common problem that has shown up on SP2 install issues has been the presence of malware. If you think this might be an issue, you may also want to take a look at my Blog, Defending Your Machine, addy below in my Signature for some assistance. -- Regards, Jim Byrd, MS-MVP/DTS/AH-VSOP My Blog, Defending Your Machine, here: http://DefendingYourMachine.blogspot.com/ "Germex" <Germex@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:212BA721-3B14-451F-968A-796A848510E0@microsoft.com > I can uninstall SP2 and boot back into SP1 successfully.
