Please answer PA Bear's question about module versions.

Tip: If you can reply using OE6 your versions for both those modules
would show in the headers of your reply.

However, the versions of any of the modules involved in a cumulative update
of OE may have a bearing in why the update keeps appearing.

For example, poster Joann apparently somehow had a regressed version
of msident.dll as well as superseding versions of some other modules.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...0-a05053bf72a7

There is an extract from the corresponding security bulletin in there
you could use for checking your modules' versions for discrepancies.
E.g. with IE do a Ctrl-f find for convenience in there to find it.

BTW note that Joann's OS has some features which are not available
on yours so not all the suggestions I made for her case can be applied
directly to yours.

Also please note I wrote a last comment about forcing 887797 before
learning that although it is labeled a cumulative update it does not contain
all the necessary modules, so please disregard that idea when you read it.

I'm sorry I didn't answer this before, I mixed posts up and thought it was
adressing to another victim of this damn update. Will teach me to check these
when i have more time.

The thing is i uninstalled Outlook Express (I'm using another program)
I wonder if there's traces left that could create the problem

Thanks for your answers.

How did you uninstall OE? Even if you don't use OE, 837009 should be
installed. (Long story...)

I uninstalled it using the add/remove programs option.
I don't find any obvious leftover files but I'm no expert, as you could see
;-)

Thanks again for answering

....Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components, maybe.

You should still install 837009.

Thanks for sticking with me ;-)

I'll try that when I'll come back from vacations.
Thanks again for trying to help me fix that problem.
