Default Driver problem

Good day.
I'm trying to install hardware driver from internet. How i observe, the
search for driver was executed with help of Windows Update Agent (Automatic
Updates service). This search was done nothing. I think it happens because AU
give only secure and critical updates, and therefore the driver have a little
chance to hit in those categories. I trying to found different hardware
drivers but the search fails always.
Can i to change the method of driver searching in order to have success?
Can i do the search for drivers independently (need do it programmatically)?
For example, get the list of links for acessible drivers and then download
them?
