Default Repairing XP SP2 with a different CD to the original

Hello

I have been trying for 4 weeks to install a printer/scanner without sucess.

We have tried everything except repairing Windows XP with the CD which I
would like to do.

The problem is I have a genuine copy of Windows XP SP1 but my system has
been upgraded to XP SP2 and the CD refuses to repair a more recent version
of XP (essence of message)

I would like to know if I use a CD of XP SP2, will I be able to get around
this problem.

Also, which CD number do I type in if asked, my original number or the
number of the CD doing the repair?

Thanks

Dave Neve

If you have a CD Burner - use "AutoStreamer" and the "IT Version" of Service
Pack 2 and integrate (make) your own Windows XP with SP2 CD.

Good Day,

There are a couple of choices that you have Dave, one would be to go into
the control panel, then add/remove pgms and uninstall SP2, you will be able
to do it then.
The other is to do a slipstream of your sp1 cd with sp2, and here is how you
perform this task:
