Default BITS Service settings

I want to know what is recommended the startup on this service. When we
placed SUS in our network, the instructions said to set this service as
Manual startup as it would start when calls were made to it by the Automatic
Updates service. Is this still the way is should be? Do the newer version
of BITS need this set at Automatic? Can someone let me know and point me to
some KB article or doc? Thanks in advance.

SUS is scheduled to be discontinued next year. WSUS replaces it.
You can download a white paper on WSUS at this link:

The appropriate newsgroup for your questions is:

I already knew that. I didn't state that we were still using it, just what
it told me at the time. You took the time to write a reply that didn't
answer my question.
