Last night when I shut down two notebook computers, they both said they would
install an update as they were shutting down. One went down fine, the other is still up and telling me not to turn it off. I need to use that computer. Any suggestions? Incidentally, if there is anyone from Microsoft support monitoring this, I would have liked to use the chat support, but you cannot get your product code when the machine is in this state. A bit of a catch-22, don't you think? Thanks Matt |

Matt;
If it is still that way an hour later, or since last night as it seems by your post, just turn the computer off. Something is hung up. When you power on and have the time, check and you may find the update is installed. Otherwise reinstall the update. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "m3sellers" <m3sellers@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F3BDA5DC-9AD0-4320-9B15-1E3CA4BD30B7@microsoft.com... > Last night when I shut down two notebook computers, they both said they > would > install an update as they were shutting down.
