Hi,
i have tried 4 times unsuccessfully to install Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB905915). I am using Windows 2000. Problem: A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed Solution: To fix the problem, try installing the updates again. If that doesn't work, use the Troubleshooter to try solve the problem. The troubleshooter expects an error code to give it some guidance. I have not seen any error code. I have attempted to email microsoft - I got the reply "Microsoft professional will respond to you in e-mail within 1 business day", but they didn't. The email also says "Please do not reply". any ideas? |

Hi, It sounds as if you are using "Automatic Updates" or selecting the
update yourself from the list provided. Instead try a manual download and install: Go to the msn website and search for the KB number you require, then manually download and install it Cheers "Remedy Malahide" wrote: > Hi, > > i have tried 4 times unsuccessfully to install Cumulative Security Update > for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB905915). I did indeed have "Automatic Updates" on - a bit worrying that they don't
work and it leaves my computer vulnerable unless i chase it up. The manual download and install worked fine though - many thanks. For me the problem was gone after the WindowsUpdate-required restart.
And I had the same problem. Both with WindowsUpdate and AutoUpdate. And not only with KB905915, but with KB905414 and KB896424 as well.
