The same thing happened to me. This was an automatic update emanating from
Microsoft on Monday morning, not a planned upgrade, so no lectures about backing up data, please. I'm guessing the same thing happened to the original poster and countless others. I was running Outlook Express, and suddenly found myself with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 instead, minus Outlook Express and minus all my previous messages. This was an unpleasant surprise, and highly distressing. Could someone direct me (and everyone else) to where to go to find out how to fix this? Could we have more specific info than "m.p. outlook" (whatever that means) like maybe a link? Thanks. It's best to begin a new thread about *your* problem instead of
"piggybacking" onto someone else's thread, Carolina. The same thing did not happen to you: Eric had *upgraded* to WinXP; You installed an Office *Update* (apparently). Now, as to your problem: Windows version? Do you now find MS Outlook as your default Mail Client or do you now find Outlook Express "missing" from Start > Programs and/or your desktop shortcuts? What happens if you: Start > Run > (type in) msimn.exe > OK ?? -- OE6-specific newsgroup: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...tlooke xpress OE General newsgroup: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...xpress.general ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Carolina Jessamine wrote: > The same thing happened to me.
