Download the full Office 2003 SP2 update from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en ( Short Link: http://snipurl.com/hzex ) Have your Office 2003 CDs handy - just in case. I have the same issue as Debra and tried your suggestion of downloading from
your recommend link. I choose the smaller verison as I have my office 2003 cds. I ran the file and got the following message: "Error 1913. Setup cannot update file: C\WINDOWS\win.ini. Verify the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it." The download failed again. I have searched my computer for the file "win.ini" and I am unable to find it? Now what? "Shenan Stanley" wrote: > Debra wrote: > > It says the updates are being installed...Instaling office 2003 > > service pack 2 (update 1 of 1 failed. I failed with this file that you suggested:
Office2003SP2-KB887616-Client-ENU.exe (i.e. the 49 mb version). I have been reading some other posts and othes claim to have the same probelm, but have used the full version and report no issues (i.e. Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe). I think I am going to try it, as all other users are laptop users with same issue, which seems to be fixed. Your thoughts? I tried the full version (i.e. Office2003SP2-kb887616-fullfile-enu.exe) and
still can't load SP2. I am still getting an error: "Error 1913. Setup cannot update file: C\WINDOWS\win.ini. Verify the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it." What now?
