OS Windows ME
Normally use AutoUpdate Have also tried manual download. Download and install seem to OK. On restart get DOS screen that reads: Wnidows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1 : %2 This repeats 5 times Windows could not upgrade one or more system files before starting Windows may not start or run properly If Windows fails to start run Setup again press any key to continue Press enter and Windows finishes loading. Everything seems to work OK Checked Windows Update Log. Does show Error 0X0000054F, what ever that means. KB825119 Sec Update for ME and KB867282 Cum Sec Update for IE6 were AutoUpdated 12/13/05. If they were installed out of order cause this problem? Dave Sayre Had a crash on this computer 2 months ago and had to wipe the harddrive. Went through and redid all the Updates individuall, in order by issue number |
