Checking over everything yesterday, I realized that after downloading and
reinstalling the Windows Update engine, as you suggested, that the program really didn't 're-install' the WU. It basically decompressed the files and then recognized the WU already existed and then said it was finished. It did not replace the old WU (same version, I believe). I could not find any entry in the 'Control Panel' for the WU so that I could remove the existing one. How do I manually remove the existing WU engine? thanks... John |
