We have over 1000 XP SP2 systems on a LAN running through ISA 2004. Most all
the systems get a 0x80240030 error clicking on the Custom or Express button. We populate the user's proxy server at login and don't have autoproxy implemented as the Troubleshooting for this error suggests. In the Resolution area it says: The corporate environment does not have autoproxy implemented. Automatic Update will always do autoproxy detection and thus if that returns no proxy, it will try to use no proxy. Use the proxycfg tool to specify a proxy server to use (proxycfg.exe -p <proxy server>). Please contact your network administrator to find out the name and port of this proxy. What are we supposed to do in the corporate world? Run proxycfg on each machine? Why can't we just populate the proxy during login and have that work? -- Sandy Wood Orange County District Attorney |
