and MS/your OEM cannot help, try reinstalling your OS and choose the repair
option after you get to the point where it looks for previous installations and locates your partition. I suggest skipping the registration again. After trying everything else here, and a few other things that didn't work, this did. A few other suggestions: -Disable your system restore before beginning IF you backed up your system. System restore can cause a big delay in the update and SP2 update. Please do this ONLY if you backed up beforehand for obvious reasons. Don't forget to restore it when done! -Turn off your anti-virus for this (these) update(s) only (or enable its snooze if applicable) and allow your firewall to access the WU site. Remember to reable your AV and FW access when done if disabled! Hope this helped, as it did for me! |
