Default Error 0x80246007

Windows 2000 Pro Updater history shows one instance of a failed install of
(KB823353). Since that failure, the updater keeps wanting to re-instal this
update every few minutes. The history shows several successful installs of
this update, but the updater keeps wanting to re-install this.

Add/Remove programs does not show this update in the uninstallable programs
list

How do I stop all this nonsense? Thanks

There is a KB about something like this (dont have the url).
You may have to delete the "SoftwareDistribution" folder in Winnt/Windows.
To do that I think you have to stop the
-> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Automatic Updates
deletete or rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder, then restart the
-> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Automatic Updates
if you still want to use that service...
