After installing a new motherboard windows would not boot. I repaired the
window installation but my updates are now invalid. When I go to update I get error 0x8007005. I still have security center etc... installed from SP2 but it will not start up. |

The only way I was ever successful with this was to uninstall drivers
related to the board, including chipset drivers. Carefully follow reboots and make sure on the last reboot you have uninstalled ide and chipset drivers, then install the new board before the after uninstall reboot. At least this willgive you your best chance. Make sure you have a full backup or clone of your old machine first, in case you run into something unrcoverable.
