Error 0x40000015 .net framework 1.1 service pack
Error message 0x40000015 when windows update tries to install .net framework
1.1 service pack 1 (KB886903). Error message is from visual c++ runtime lib and refers to temp/SLD.tmp file and that application has requested that runtime terminate in an unusual way. Have been thru the KB article referenced with the service pack and followed all recommended steps without luck. Info was dated several months ago though. Any help will be appreciated.

I should also say that my system is XP/Pro SP2 with all other current updates
installed. Thanks.
