Default Windows XP service pack 2

Why can we get no help from microsoft on their own products? They keep
referring me back to Gateway because XP came pre installed. Gateway has
nothing to do with the Service XP 2 update being total crap.

Everytime I try it locks up...when I get it to finally load it then tells me
I'm missing Files windows operating system needs to reinstall my CD...When I
put in the CD it tells me what I have online is a newer version than my CD.

I contact Gateway they tell me to system restore prior to update..that won't
work. It won't allow me to do that. So I uninstalled svc pack 2.

I want the blankety blank microsoft people to take that svc pack 2 off my
list of updates....according to the Gateway rep it creates more problems than
it fixes.

Grrrrr, now you can't even talk to the people without paying to discuss
their problems!!! Has anyone got any satisfaction out of microsoft on these
issues?

"according to the Gateway rep it creates more problems than it fixes"?
Possibly according to the tech you talked to, but that tech certainly was
NOT speaking representing Gateway with that irresponsible statement.
Call Gateway back.
If you get a similar answer, demand a gateway web reference.
Something so important will be on Gateway's web site.
When it can not be given, ask for a supervisor and report the incompetence.
Note...the incompetent techs will most likely hang up at this point since
they are caught.

Is your computer ready for Service Pack 2?
There is preparation to be done first.
The amount depends on how well maintained the computer is in advance:
