ok, I let the "checking for latest updates on your computer" green scanning
bar run till I got the error screen. I read the articles about what could be wrong. I added the sites to the trusted sites in internet options. i have no firewall running. and my last update via automatic updates was Dec. 16th. How do I know if my automatic update will d/l any new updates? or is it just the web site I am/will have problems with? should I worry about it not being able to access the web site? do I really need to go and change all the stuff listed in this article? http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836941 this is all so confusing. |

yes great but there really isn't a great solution in there.........ok, not
one that I can see which jumps out at me. Person who posted the original topic never said in it if it got fixed or not. I check my HOST file and there was nothing in there that needed to be fixed/changed. Have to finish reading the other stuff it says to do below that. I just really really hate changing things! My big question that no one has answered is if the "automatic update" is going to work and if it does, should I CARE if I can't get into the update web page?! PA Bear, it would be great to reply to my own earlier thread if it would have gotten answered!! :-) but am afraid it's way down there in the messages now......! Guppy....again.
