Greetings,
I just upgraded my motherboard to an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe with an AMD 64 3000+ processor, then after realizing PCI Express is a new technology of video cards after seeing that my AGP card (BFGtech 6800 GT OC 256MB AGP) does not align with the graphics ports, I have ordered me a BFGtech 6800 GT OC 256MB PCI Express card. While I was looking up other things, I had found out about Windows XP Professional x64, and how using Windows XP Home Edition SP2 uses only 32 bits (which basically defeats the purpose of buying a 64-bit processor / motherboard / video card). I was about to goto Best Buy tonight and purchase 2 new copies of Windows XP Home Edition (as my current version I was deciding to keep for the motherboard it was on so I can have a 3rd PC for the youngen when I get all the other parts needed). But when I saw about the x64 version, I was like, I might as well get two copies of that. I have registered for the 180-day free trial online, but I have been trying to find out where I can buy them. I have checked Best Buy and TigerDirect.com, but neither of them seem to have it, and was just wondering if it is still in beta or something, when will it be released? or if it is out now where can I buy it? I build my own computers, but I am not a business, so I don't know if I can really get the OEM. Can someone please tell me how I can get this? I would appreciate it if only a Microsoft Representative responds, than just anyone out there. Thanks! -- Chris Green |
