Go to Start>Run>type SFC /SCANNOW (space between C and /)
and click Enter. Have your WindowsXP CD handy for it may ask you to insert it. SFC = System File Checker. This action will replace missing or corrupt files in your system. If this does not correct your problem, you may need to do a Repair Install of XP. -- XP - WNP Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
