A search got me a boot.ini.backup file, but it failed to locate
boot.ini. Is it hidden? I'm trying to follow the directions in article 305595 - "How to create a boot disk for ..." - Mike |

Hi
It's a hidden file. You need to open Windows Explorer and go to Tools>Folder Options>View - then enable 'Show hidden files and folders'. It's hidden for a very good reason. -- Will Denny MS MVP Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Michael Horowitz" <mhorowit@cox.net> wrote in message news 4ttq1lq05orittb147oeqde8mv104pdau@4ax.com... > OK - you've exceeded my fundimental knowledge. > I thought c:\ was the root directory. but "dir c:" shows no boot.ini > You must be talking about something else?? - MIke > > On Sun, 25 Dec 2005 11:28:29 -0800, "Jerry" <NoSpamChiefZeke@MSN.com> > wrote: > >>It is in the root of the C:\ drive. >> >>"Michael Horowitz" <mhorowit@cox.net> wrote in message >>news:bsrtq1h5srariljgcvqccfm4g5i4iktrcb@4ax.com. .. >>>A search got me a boot.ini.backup file, but it failed to locate >>> boot.ini. >>> Is it hidden? >>> I'm trying to follow the directions in article 305595 - "How to create >>> a boot disk for ..." >>> - Mike >> > |
