Default Help!! ddwin.exe dll initialization failure??

I get this error message when shutting down the computer. It doesn't not seem
to effect computer at all when running or shutting down. I can't see any
problem other than nuisance error message.

I have "googled" and am reviewing the 57,000 hits but would like to see if
anyone can help speed things up.

The computer is a Compaq Presario SR1010NX with XP Home with SP1 and some
windows updates. I installed all pre-SP2 Compaq suggested updates and then
installed SP2 from MS SP2 CD. I didn't have error prior to updates.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Dennis

Unless you'll give us the complete error message you may well have to read
all 57K hits.

That's all it really says.
Did it a "Clean Boot". have been restarting apps one at a time.

looks like related to something called "MyWebSearch Email plugin".

I disabled it. Looks good.

thanks!! Happy Holidays!!

Thanks.

I hadn't "googled" for "MyWebSearch Email plugin".

Seems like a very modest threat. Only thing one was entry in registry from
program being in Startup folder. easy enough to remove once identified.

thanks again.

Happy Holidays to you!!!
