I just got a 64 bit amd athelon and wanted to try the new windows 64 bit. I
downloaded the trial version and saved the ISO to a CD. When I select setup, it tells me to boot up from the disk. I have tried several times to do this, but I just end up restarting my computer. For some reason it will not boot from the disk. I have changed the settings in the bois to read from cd rom but still nothing. Can anyone offer assistance. Thank you. -- Dice |

Hi,
Did you just copy the .iso to the CD, or did you create a new disk from an image file? An .iso file is an image file, and burning it to CD is treated just like you were copying a CD. If you just copied the .iso to CD, then you have not done it properly. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Dice" <Dice@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8F5A3E0F-CF5F-4FCB-8B78-A51F50673D26@microsoft.com... >I just got a 64 bit amd athelon and wanted to try the new windows 64 bit. The ISO file is a CD image file. How did you save it to CD ?? If you just
saved it to a CD, it won't work. You need to use something like Nero to read the ISO file and burn that to a CD. It will not work that way as you must burn the file as an image file. You can do that by using Nero or Roxio. -- Evolution54 |
