Default ridiculous resume screen problem

I guess this is a pretty common problem; when I resume from my screen saver
my screen goes back to the welcome screen. I thought I knew how to fix it, I
did properties>screen saver, but the box for the option is already unchecked.
I didn't have a password assigned to my account, so I gave myself one, and
then on resume it worked. I know I've done this before...I thought I
remembered there being a "Go to welcome screen on resume" option, but the
only option I have is "password protect on resume" HELP!

Hi,

From the screensaver tab click power settings, then on the advanced tab
uncheck "prompt for password when computer resumes from standby".
