Default How are fonts transferred?

I had to reinstall WindowsXP pro after a crash and I want all my old special
fonts back.

I have a full backup from before the crash.

I tried copying over the old Windows/Font file from the old backup to the
new installation, but this does not work.

Can anyone help? We have to print out some more labels!

Regards, Frank

Default Re: How are fonts transferred?

I did try this but the dialogue window did not see any fonts.

(I have the backup fonts on my Maxtor external HDD).

In the end I succeeded in just copying the backup fonts via Explorer to the
current Windows/Fonts though it seems strange that there is an empty
Windows/Fonts/Fonts as well.

All seems well for the moment.

Regards and thanks to all, Frank

I'm glad you got it sorted. For the record, I wasn't able to get to the
page with the link I originally gave you, either. I did a search on MS
for "install fonts Windows XP" and got quite a lot of useful links. The
one to which I was referring works from this link:

Now how come that one works for me and the other doesn't, I'm wondering.
