Trying to check security of my desktop, I run "spy" in the edit/find menu in
my regedit in register.
I found dozen keys/values/data.
I took note of everyone and decided to check them all.
After check them, I decided what keys/values/data I must delete.
When trying to get "spy" again, could not find any. A box told me that
"Finished searching through the register" without any result..
How can I get the keys/values/data again for "spy" ??
Please assist me.

I hope you have a backup of your registry and know how to restore it when
you can no longer boot up win.
Sounds though you will need to know.

That is DEFINITELY NOT the way to check for security. There are several
good free spyware checkers. Get one and use it before you screw up your
system. Assuming that you already haven't done that. Here's a couple.

http://www.lavasoft.com/ look for the free version in the right hand column.

Make sure to update both programs before running them.

Thanks for reply.
It may be I was misunderstood.
I did not act in regedit, only searched so far.
Anyway is there a way to get "spy" in new search ? It was not touched.

(1) Most spyware will cloak itself in less obvious names. It's ANTI-
spyware that is more likely to have "spy" in its names, or else
unrelated programs that just happen to have that sequence of three
letters.

(2) Don't go just deleting things in the registry, or at least not
without first making a complete backup of your system and testing it.

(3) The find function in the Registry works forward only. If you want
to repeat a search from the beginning, you have to click on "My
Computer" at the top of the left-hand pane and then do your search.
