Would really appreciate any assistance
I cannot uninstall Microsoft Office programmes from my computer without getting the following error message: HKEY_LocalMachine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/OptionalComponents/IMail. No Microsoft programmes will go on or off. But other types of programme will go. I am using Windows XP which was installed on the machine but whether it is an update that could be the problem I dont know. I have tried Add and Remove Programmes and the options on another Microsoft CD Office install etc etc I have done some research and wonder if it is linked to Start up?? I cannot find any reference to IMail in the OptionalComponents Greg (Manchester, UK) -- Greg |

Have you used cCleaner recently?
If there are messages in the System section of Event Viewer please post copies. Try uninstalling again and note the precise time the Error occurs. Then look in Event Viewer for an error report firstly on the System tab and if not there on the Application tab. Don't be fussy over a minute or two but ignore any messages from before you tried to uninstall. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important. HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your message(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer. Hope this helps.
