I would like to know if there are any default pop-up blockers in windows XP?
I am trying my best to post a question here and this particular pop-up blocker keeps on preventing the question page to load. Also this blocker is invisible. So I am wondering if someone is doing big brother on my machine. This is not running in IE. The IE pop-up blocker has been disabled. Its running outside IE. Help, Abhi |

Try holding down the CTRL key when you click on the link. If
the page you want to access launches, you have another pop-up blocker active on your system. The first thing I'd look at would be any type of toolbars you may have added to IE, e.g. Google Toolbar. The CTRL key has done the trick. Thanks a lot.
However I am still not able to figure out what the popup-blocker is. AFAIK, there are no toolbars installed on my IE. So where did that thingy come from? I have disabled the existing popup-blocker for certain sites like microsoft.com and would like to do the same for that thingy as well. Double check to make sure the IE pop-up blocker is disabled.
Block Pop-up Windows with Internet Explorer http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...upblocker.mspx Look on the Status bar at the bottom of Internet Explorer. If you see an icon similar to the one that's shown on the Privacy page of Internet Options it means IE's pop-up blocker is working. You should also investigate any security software you have installed on your computer. It's possible that your antivirus and/or antispyware software includes a pop-up blocking feature. Good luck Nepatsfan abhi wrote: > The CTRL key has done the trick.
