Is it possible to password-protect folders in XP?
I have various 'sensitive' files all contained within one folder and would like to protect this with a password. Any ideas? Thanks |

Also, some applications allow the user to password-protect their specific data files. Hi,
As Bruce has mentioned, XP relies on permissions, not passwords. However, you can password the folder if you zip it. Once zipped, you will find a password option in the file menu. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Terry Bennett" <terry.bennett1@virgin.net> wrote in message news:ukFDJGd$FHA.228@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Is it possible to password-protect folders in XP? > > I have various 'sensitive' files all contained within one folder and would > like to protect this with a password. > > Any ideas? > > Thanks > |
