I added an external monitor. Now, my laptop monitor is "black" although I
can see the "normal" screen on it with a flashlight. How can I activate the "Use This Device As Primary Monitor" mode? |

Almost certainly this has nothing to do with Windows. How to do this should be in the instruction manual for your laptop. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

Your laptop should have some sort of a function key that will enable the
laptop LCD as well as the VGA port on the back. In most cases, the function button says FN and is the bottom left key. You will also need to locate that actual LCD display key. It will by on one of the top row keys. Most likely saying something like LCD or MON. It may even show a small moitor as the picture. Press the FN key and the monitor key. This should cycle through all of the options your laptop has. -- -------- Ryan "ermmi" wrote: > I added an external monitor.
