Default I want all the folders to default to one view.

How can I get all folders in the system to default to "Details" view.

But only for the first time. Thereafter I can adjust some select folders th
other views.

Please help, Frank

Open a folder and set it up the way you want.
Click on Tools at the top of the window and select Folder
Options from the menu.
Click on the View tab.
Hit the "Apply to All Folders" button.
Click OK.
Any folder you open should now be using the Details view.
You can change individual folders if you want.
If you find that these folders aren't retaining their settings,
go to this web site and download the registry fix on the left
hand side of line 2, Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000:

After using "Apply to all folders" as described by Nepatsfan, check the box
to "remember view for each folder" in Folder Options> View.
