Hello All,
I recently upgraded my Compaq notebook, running XP Home, to XP Pro with the XP Pro Upgrade Program. I thought everything went well, until I tried to connect to a domain. This is when I found that the User Accounts in Control Panel still shows the XP Home version. There are not tabs, only the icons for the current accounts (only Administrators and Guests). I've tried a reinstall, but the results are the same--what can I do? Thanks in Advance, Ken |

Apparently you're looking for a tool in Windows other than User Accounts via Control Panel. Maybe one of these is what you're after? User Accounts that you get from control userpasswords is the default icon in
the Control Panel. User Accounts that you get from control userpasswords2 is not in the Control Panel by default, you have to add it. Go here... http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Read the instructions at the top of the page. 1. Right hand side Add ControlUserPasswords2 To Control Panel Reinstalling XP will not add it. -- Hope this helps. Let us know. When I type userpasswords2 in the Run box, I get a file not found error.
What I am trying to do is logon to a domain, but the logon box does not have a Domain line--only username and password. Thanks for your help. I spoke too soon. While the Correct User Accounts box comes up, it does not
contain the column that says, "Domain." I still cannot logon to my domain. Could it be that my upgrade went bad somewhere? It doesn't sound like even that is going to do what you want.
