THIS WAS ALSO POSTED IN WINDOWS XP NETWORKING GROUP
Am using Office 2003 & XP, SP2. I had disconnected from the local area network. When using Word, the My Documents folder with subfolder having the small blue arrows on the bottom left of folder icon was no longer accessible. Whata was available was My Documents with only 2 subfolder, My E-Books and My Music. All other subfolders were not there. So I looked around and found another My Documents that didn't have the small blue arrow on each subfolder and retrieved my files from it. I used thise My Documents for 3 weeks because I was out of the office. Upon return to my office and connected to the network, I opened Windows Explorer. In the left pane there was the Desktop, just below was My Documents with the blue arrow. Then there's My Computer with subfolders c: (System) and D: (User Data). Under D: we have a subfolder with my log on user name (RBT2909) and a subfolder to RBT29029 is My Documents, without the small blue arrow on each subfolder. I suspect this is the one I was using off line. The problem is: 1) I am not sure if the now visible My Documents has synchronized to account for the one I was working with offline, 2) I'm afraid to delete the My Documents that does not have the blue arrow on it and each of its subfolders, 3) I lose confidence in the product when a second My Documents is automatically created, and not automatically removed when I reconnect to the network. Can you help? |
